Coastal Carolina will begin a two-game Sun Belt Conference road trip on Wednesday night, facing Marshall at the Cam Henderson Center in Huntington, West Virginia.

The Chanticleers hold a 9-9 overall record and are 2-4 in conference play. They recently ended a three-game losing streak with a 67–62 victory over App State at home. In that game, Joshua Beadle scored a career-high 25 points, making three crucial three-pointers late in the contest. Reggie Hill added a decisive layup in the final minute to secure the win. Coastal Carolina shot over 64 percent from the field in the second half and finished at 50 percent for the game.

Marshall enters the match-up with an 11-6 record overall and is 3-2 in Sun Belt games. The Thundering Herd are coming off an 81–73 loss to Georgia State but have been strong at home this season with an 8–1 record. Marshall ranks among the league’s top offensive teams, standing second in three-point percentage (.356) and three-pointers made per game (10.0). The team also leads the conference in assists per game (17.4), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.34), blocks per game (5.4), and effective field-goal percentage (.541).

Jalen Speer leads Marshall’s perimeter offense, ranking among the Sun Belt’s top three players for both three-pointers made per game (2.71) and shooting accuracy from beyond the arc. Matt Van Komen anchors their interior play, averaging nearly seven rebounds per contest and leading the league with 41 total blocked shots and an average of 2.71 blocks per game.

Coastal Carolina has one of the most disciplined offenses in the conference, tied with South Alabama for fewest turnovers per game at just over ten. The starting lineup—Beadle, AJ Dancler, Hill, Rasheed Jones, and Nadjrick Peat—contributes about three-fourths of Coastal’s scoring output.

Since Marshall joined the Sun Belt Conference for the 2022–23 season, they lead the all-time series against Coastal Carolina five games to one. Last season’s meeting saw Marshall claim a close win after closing out on a six-point run.

The upcoming contest is scheduled to tip off at 7:02 p.m., with streaming available on ESPN+.
