The Coastal Carolina softball team defeated the Charleston Southern Buccaneers 11-3 on Mar. 24 at St. John Stadium.

The game saw Coastal Carolina take an early lead, with Kaelin Cash and Izzy Ramirez hitting back-to-back home runs in the first inning to put the Chanticleers ahead by four runs. In the second inning, Georgia Hood and Cash repeated the feat with consecutive home runs, extending Coastal’s advantage to seven runs.

Charleston Southern responded in the fourth inning, taking advantage of two fielding errors by Coastal Carolina and a one-run single from Lorenzza Marcacci to narrow the deficit to 7-3. However, Coastal added another run in their half of the fourth when Delaney Keith hit a leadoff double and later scored on a double steal.

In the fifth inning, Keith, Hood, and Cash each recorded RBIs for Coastal Carolina as they secured an 11-3 win under run-rule conditions. Pitcher Abby Henderson improved her record to 7-9 after allowing just two hits over three innings without giving up any runs.
