The Coastal Carolina softball team lost to the Georgia Southern Eagles on March 28, suffering a series sweep after a 10-2 defeat at St. John Stadium.

The outcome marks another setback for the Chanticleers as they continue their season. The loss reflects ongoing challenges faced by the team during this stretch of games.

Georgia Southern took control early, scoring three runs in the first inning with a bases-loaded walk and a two-run single by Carley Ramsden. The Eagles extended their lead in the second inning, adding five more runs through singles and a groundout to make it 8-0.

Coastal Carolina managed to get on the scoreboard in the third inning when Georgia Hood hit an RBI single. In the fourth inning, Brie Normandin scored on a wild pitch, reducing the deficit further but not enough to shift momentum.

Georgia Southern sealed their win with two additional runs in the seventh inning thanks to Braelyn Queen’s two-run home run over left field. Abby Henderson started for Coastal Carolina and allowed seven runs on four hits over one inning, bringing her record to 7-11 for the season.
