The Coastal Carolina softball team lost both games in a doubleheader against the Georgia Southern Eagles at St. John Stadium on March 27. The Chanticleers were defeated 7-4 in the first game and 9-4 in the second.

These losses impact Coastal Carolina’s standing as they look to improve their record during the season.

In game one, Georgia Southern took an early lead with an RBI single by Emma Davis. Coastal Carolina tied it up when McKennah Metzger hit a sacrifice fly that brought Libby Pippin home. The Eagles regained control, scoring runs in subsequent innings through singles and a passed ball, building a lead that Coastal could not overcome despite a two-run double from Hannah Bendle late in the game. Bailey Holland of Georgia Southern closed out the win with three consecutive outs in the seventh inning.

Game two saw Georgia Southern maintain momentum, opening with back-to-back RBI singles and then extending their lead with a three-run home run by Delanie Thames. Clara Hudgens got Coastal on the board with an RBI single, and Brie Normandin narrowed the gap further with a three-run triple. However, additional runs from Davis and Kayla Christensen for Georgia Southern secured their victory. Metzger took her first loss of the season as starting pitcher for Coastal Carolina.
