The Coastal Carolina softball team will travel to Atlanta to play the Georgia State Panthers from April 2 to April 4.

This matchup is important as both teams look to improve their records in Sun Belt Conference play. The Panthers, with a season record of 20–18, are still seeking their first conference series win after losses against Marshall, Troy, and Appalachian State.

Georgia State has several strong hitters this season, with six players batting over .300. McKenzie Walker leads the team with a .421 average. On the pitching side, Makayla Stephens holds a 2.26 earned run average and a record of 13–8. Stephens also ranks fourth nationally with 152 strikeouts and ninth in the NCAA for shutouts with four. The Panthers are currently on a three-game losing streak after recent defeats by Appalachian State and Chattanooga.

Historically, Coastal Carolina has an advantage over Georgia State with a 17–11 all-time record and is currently on a seven-game winning streak against them. However, on the road at Georgia State, Coastal holds just three wins out of eight games played there. In their last meeting, Coastal secured an 8–0 victory in five innings; Clara Hudgens, Delaney Keith, and Libby Pippin each contributed runs batted in during that game.

In Sun Belt Conference statistics this season, Coastal leads with 325 assists and ranks second with 234 RBIs. Brie Normandin stands fifth in batting average at .434 and is tied for fifth place for hits at forty-two. Georgia Hood is among conference leaders as well: she ranks fourth in slugging percentage (.784), second in RBIs (38), and third in home runs (14). Delaney Keith places fourth for runs scored (31) and tenth for stolen bases (nine).
