The Coastal Carolina University men’s and women’s track and field teams are competing at the 2026 Sun Belt Outdoor Track & Field Championship, which takes place from Thursday to Saturday in Mobile, Alabama. The event is being hosted by South Alabama at the Jaguar Track & Field Complex.
This championship meet is a key event for the teams as they look to showcase their top athletes’ performances against conference opponents. Several team members have recorded marks that rank among the best in the Sun Belt Conference this season.
On the men’s side, Josh Canteen achieved a mark of 15.09 meters in the triple jump at the Duke Invitational, which currently ranks sixth in the conference. Joseph Norrby posted a time of 47.61 seconds in the 400 meters during the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, placing him seventh among Sun Belt competitors.
For the women’s team, Jamie Adams ran a time of 54.18 seconds at the Tom Jones Memorial, standing sixth in her event within the conference rankings. Addison Laughlin’s performance of 35:14.91 in the 10,000 meters at Raleigh Relays is currently third-best among Sun Belt athletes. Emelia Thurston reached a distance of 6.13 meters in long jump and Maya Studney marked 12.41 meters in triple jump—both achievements rank fifth within their respective events for this season’s conference standings.
Maria Helga Hognadottir scored 5120 points in heptathlon competition at Duke Invitational, giving her third place among all heptathletes competing this year within their league.
