Coastal Carolina women’s basketball head coach Kevin Pederson announced on March 30 the signing of Caroline Mullins, a transfer from UVA Wise, for the 2026-2027 season.
The addition of Mullins marks the first transfer signed by the Chanticleers for the upcoming season. Her arrival is expected to strengthen the team’s roster and bring new skills to Coastal Carolina’s program.
“We are excited to welcome Caroline and her family to Coastal Carolina!” Pederson said. “The coaching staff at UVA Wise did an outstanding job working with Caroline to help her become an honorable mention D2 All-American and First Team All-Conference player. Her ability to score, rebound and create one-on-one off the dribble will help her make an immediate impact upon her arrival. Our staff is looking forward to the toughness and competitive nature she is going to bring to our program on a daily basis.”
Mullins, a 5-foot-10 guard from Jasper, Georgia, played at UVA Wise from 2024 through 2026. She started all 29 games in her most recent season with the Cavaliers, leading the South Atlantic Conference with averages of 19.7 points per game along with 8.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. She earned First Team All-Conference honors as well as D2CCA All-Southeast Region Second-Team recognition and was named a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention.
Mullins also received WBCA/D2CIDA NCAA Division II National Player of the Week honors after notable performances that included scoring 38 points with 15 rebounds against USC Beaufort and recording a double-double against Georgia Southwestern in November. In her previous season (2024-25), she started in more than half of UVA Wise’s games while averaging nearly ten points per contest.
Looking ahead, Coastal Carolina expects Mullins’ experience and achievements at both high school (Pickens High School in Georgia) and collegiate levels will contribute positively when she joins as a junior next season.
