Coastal Carolina University’s women’s lacrosse team will begin a four-game road trip starting Saturday, February 14, with a match against East Carolina in Greenville, North Carolina. The game is scheduled for noon and will be streamed live on ecupirates.com.
The Chanticleers’ road stretch includes three games in North Carolina and one in Virginia. After facing East Carolina, the team will play at Charlotte on February 18, at Davidson on February 22, and finish the trip at William & Mary on February 28.
Coastal Carolina started its season with two home wins last weekend, beating Longwood 19-10 and Presbyterian 15-8. This marks the program’s first 2-0 start since 2021.
Alexandra Horn led the team with eight goals and five assists over the two games, earning Atlantic Sun Offensive Player of the Week honors. Nikki Seven, a transfer from San Diego State, contributed seven goals and five assists. Senior Sophie Kingsborough scored twice in each game. Five other players also scored multiple goals during the opening weekend.
Senior Grace Lord was recognized as ASUN Defensive Player of the Week after recording three caused turnovers and four ground balls.
Last season, Coastal Carolina defeated East Carolina 15-14 in overtime at Brooks Stadium in their first meeting. Alyson Mascolo scored three goals in that game, while Gabrielle Beaudet and Sophie Kingsborough added two each.
East Carolina opened its season with a 15-4 win over Queens College of Charlotte. Katelyn Sclafani and Riley Matthiesen each scored four goals for East Carolina.
