Russell Fry, a Congressman representing South Carolina’s 7th District, has been active on social media, sharing updates and reflections on current events and accomplishments. Fry, who took office in 2023 after replacing Tom Rice, has shared various aspects of his role in Congress and his connection to local developments.
On April 27, 2025, Congressman Fry expressed his sympathies for the victims of a recent violent incident, stating, “My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this senseless act of violence. We are closely monitoring this situation and are thankful for the first responders who jumped into action.”
The following day, on April 28, 2025, Fry highlighted his visit to the Sonoco plant in Hartsville, mentioning its significance in local industry. He stated, “I had the opportunity to see the incredible Sonoco plant in Hartsville and meet the people who power the operation. It takes true skill and a dedicated team to produce high-quality packaging at this scale, and I’m proud to see it happening right here in South Carolina’s Seventh.”
Later that day, Fry also congratulated a colleague on a new appointment. He announced via social media, “Congratulations to my friend Bryan Stirling on his appointment as U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina! Bryan has been a dedicated and effective public servant for many years, and I have no doubt he will excel in this role and serve our country and state well.”
Russell Fry, born in 1985 in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, is a University of South Carolina alumnus and has a law degree from Charleston School of Law. He has been active in public service since his tenure in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022.
