Congressman Russell Fry, representing South Carolina’s 7th district, has been active on social media addressing various issues. His recent tweets cover topics ranging from acts of violence to immigration enforcement and border security.
On June 2, 2025, Congressman Fry addressed a violent incident in Boulder. He stated that “What happened today in Boulder was a deliberate act of terror and antisemitic hate. It was pure evil, and it cannot be tolerated.” He expressed his condolences by saying, “My heart is with the victims, their families, and the Jewish people.”
Later on the same day, he acknowledged the efforts of law enforcement agencies in South Carolina. In his tweet, he thanked several organizations for their roles in an operation that led to multiple arrests: “Thank you to @ICEgov, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and all agencies involved in the successful operation in South Carolina resulting in the arrest of over 70 illegal aliens.” He emphasized the importance of coordination and planning for public safety.
On June 3, 2025, Fry commented on national immigration policies under President Biden’s administration. He remarked that “Every state became a border state under Joe Biden, leading to senseless murders of American citizens.” Referring to a specific case in South Carolina as tragic, he also expressed gratitude for former President Trump’s focus on immigration: “Thank God President Trump is making the removal of dangerous illegal immigrants one of his TOP priorities.”
Congressman Russell Fry has been serving since replacing Tom Rice in 2023. Before joining Congress, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach and currently residing in Murrells Inlet at age 38, Fry holds degrees from both the University of South Carolina and Charleston School of Law.
