Congressman Russell Fry, representing South Carolina’s 7th district since 2023, has been active on social media discussing various topics. His recent posts cover issues ranging from local events to national concerns.
On May 21, 2025, Congressman Fry announced that “The Carolina Forest fire is now 100% contained!” He expressed gratitude towards the first responders, firefighters, law enforcement, and emergency crews who worked diligently over several months to protect homes and businesses.
Later that day, Fry commented on gas prices, attributing the expected decrease in costs around Memorial Day to actions taken by President Trump. He stated “Thanks to @POTUS, Americans can expect to see some of the lowest gas prices come Memorial Day since 2003!” emphasizing that promises made by President Trump regarding gas prices were fulfilled.
On May 22, Fry addressed a violent incident at a cultural institution in Washington D.C., expressing his distress over an attack at the Jewish Museum. He tweeted “I am outraged and heartbroken by the horrific attack at the Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.” condemning antisemitism and affirming solidarity with the Jewish community.
Russell Fry was born in Surfside Beach, South Carolina in 1985 and currently resides in Murrells Inlet. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in 2007 and obtained a JD from Charleston School of Law in 2011. Prior to his current role in Congress, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022.
