Congressman Russell Fry, representing South Carolina’s 7th district, has been actively sharing updates on his legislative activities and political views through social media. A series of tweets from mid-May 2025 provide insight into his recent work in Washington, D.C.
On May 16, Congressman Fry highlighted a busy week in the nation’s capital. He mentioned involvement with the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” and referenced the Judiciary GOP’s efforts to uncover “a possible Pfizer conspiracy to influence the 2020 election.” More details were promised on Varney & Co., as noted in his tweet “It was a busy week in Washington, D.C. between marking up the One, Big, Beautiful Bill and @JudiciaryGOP uncovering a possible Pfizer conspiracy to influence the 2020 election.”
In another tweet dated May 17, Fry expressed strong support for legislation concerning immigration enforcement. He stated “This bill is a no brainer—if you break into our country AND break our laws, you must be held fully accountable.” This reflects his stance on accountability for individuals who enter the United States unlawfully and subsequently violate its laws.
On May 19, Fry celebrated legislative success alongside Majority Leader Steve Scalise. He announced “Thank you Majority Leader @SteveScalise for helping me celebrate the passage of my bill—the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Weapon Purchase Act!” This indicates progress on a bill he sponsored regarding law enforcement officers’ ability to purchase weapons.
Russell Fry has served in Congress since replacing Tom Rice in 2023. Prior to this role, he was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach and currently residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry holds degrees from both the University of South Carolina and Charleston School of Law.
