Born in Surfside Beach and residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry succeeded Tom Rice in Congress after serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022.
On March 18, 2025, Congressman Fry celebrated National Agriculture Day by acknowledging the efforts of farmers. He stated: “Happy National Agriculture Day!
