Congressman Russell Fry, representing South Carolina’s 7th district, recently shared several updates on his legislative activities and political opinions through social media. Fry, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after replacing Tom Rice, is actively involved in various political initiatives and discussions.
On May 15, 2025, Congressman Fry announced that his “Federal Law Enforcement Officer Weapon Purchase Act has PASSED in the House!” The passage of this act marks a significant step in Fry’s legislative agenda.
In a subsequent post on May 16, 2025, Fry criticized James Comey by stating that “This new threat by James Comey is not only Trump Derangement Syndrome – it is a DANGEROUS example of how extreme the Democrat party has become, and how lost they truly are.” He expressed gratitude for @Sec_Noem and @FBIDirectorKash for taking this message seriously.
Later that day, he invited followers to watch his upcoming appearance on Fox Business with the message: “Coming up on @FoxBusiness… TUNE IN!”
Russell Fry was born in Surfside Beach, South Carolina in 1985 and currently resides in Murrells Inlet. He holds a BA from the University of South Carolina and a JD from Charleston School of Law. Before joining Congress, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022.
