Congressman Russell Fry, who has represented South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various topics from sports achievements to urban crime issues. Born in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, Fry has a background in law and politics, having previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives.
On June 8, 2025, Congressman Fry congratulated Coastal Carolina University for reaching the College World Series for the second time in its history. In his tweet, he expressed his excitement by stating “THAT’S HOW IT’S DONE! Congrats to Coastal Carolina University for reaching the College World Series for the second time in school history #ChantsUp”.
The following day, on June 9, 2025, Fry commented on the state of Los Angeles and criticized local leadership for their handling of crime. He tweeted that “LA looks more like a scene from Mad Max than a city in America—and that’s what you get with soft-on-crime policies and NO respect for law and order.” He further urged California leaders to protect citizens effectively.
