Congressman Russell Fry, representing South Carolina’s 7th district, has been an active voice on social media, sharing his viewpoints on current events. Elected in 2023 after replacing Tom Rice, Fry has a background in law and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives.
In a tweet on April 1, 2025, Fry commented on current headlines, suggesting they could be mistaken for April Fool’s jokes, albeit with a tone of concern. “Headlines that could be mistaken as April fools jokes but, sadly, are not.”
The following day, Fry expressed criticism of legal proceedings involving former President Trump. On April 2, 2025, he noted, “President Trump has received more injunctions against him in 3 months than Obama and Biden did in their entire presidencies. That’s no coincidence.” He attributed this information to One America News Network and commentator Dan Newsman Ball.
Later that day, Fry celebrated what he termed “Liberation Day” on social media. On April 2, 2025, he stated, “HAPPY LIBERATION DAY Thanks to @POTUS, America is DONE being taken advantage of. A new era has begun.” This statement suggests a shift in national direction that he attributes to the actions of the President.
