Fry, who succeeded Tom Rice and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives, expressed his views on national security, offered condolences for a tragic event, and celebrated educational achievements.

On January 29, 2025, Congressman Fry commented on the signing of new legislation by President Biden. He stated that “Laken Riley’s life was taken by a dangerous illegal immigrant who was allowed to enter and remain in our country because of Biden’s border policies.” He further noted the significance of the Laken Riley Act being signed into law as a measure to protect citizens.

The following day, January 30, 2025, Fry expressed his concern over an incident at Reagan National Airport. He tweeted: “I am praying for all those impacted by the tragic air collision at Reagan National Airport tonight.” Additionally, he extended gratitude to first responders involved in search and rescue operations.

Later on January 30, Fry announced nominations for U.S. Service Academy candidates from his district. In his tweet he mentioned: “I’m proud to announce U.S. Service Academy nominations for the class of 2029!” He praised the students’ commitment and service while expressing optimism about their future contributions.
