Congressman Russell Fry, representing South Carolina’s 7th district, has recently addressed several issues through his social media platform. Fry, who succeeded Tom Rice in 2023, is actively engaged in legislative matters and community concerns.
On May 20, 2025, Congressman Fry posted a reminder directed at illegal immigrants. He emphasized the importance of lawful behavior by stating “A reminder to illegal immigrants—doing the right thing will help YOU!” This message reflects his stance on immigration policy and the significance of compliance with legal standards.
Later that day, Fry announced the enactment of a new law aimed at safeguarding children from online exploitation. In his post, he stated “The Take it Down Act is now LAW. This bill is an important step to protect our kids from sexual exploitation online.” He extended gratitude towards President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden for their leadership in this initiative.
On May 21, 2025, Fry expressed condolences following a tragic incident involving a local law enforcement officer. He conveyed his sympathy by posting “Florence County mourns the loss of Deputy Nate Ansay, who tragically died in a crash Tuesday.” Fry acknowledged Deputy Ansay’s dedication and service to the community.
Russell Fry was born in Surfside Beach, South Carolina in 1985 and currently resides in Murrells Inlet. A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BA and Charleston School of Law with a JD, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022 before joining Congress.
