Congressman Russell Fry, representing South Carolina’s 7th district, shared recent updates on his official Twitter account, highlighting significant projects and public sentiments. Having replaced Tom Rice in the U.S. Congress in 2023, Fry brings attention to initiatives in the region and current national issues.

In a post dated April 15, 2025, Fry announced his participation in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Marine Technology Institute of South Carolina, an initiative by Horry-Georgetown Technical College. He remarked, “I was honored to join HGTC for the groundbreaking of the Marine Technology Institute of SC. This project will train the next generation of marine techs & boatbuilders—supporting good jobs, a strong economy, and SC’s leadership in the boating industry.”

On April 17, 2025, Fry commented on a CNN report, which he described as “liberal,” noting that “Even liberal CNN now reports 56% of Americans support deporting ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.” He emphasized his point by stating, “The numbers don’t lie—American citizens overwhelmingly support @POTUS’s strong border stance.”

Fry also took the opportunity on April 18, 2025, to express admiration for environmental projects underway at Hobcaw Barony in Georgetown. He expressed gratitude to the Baruch Foundation for their role, writing, “It was incredible to see all of the projects in the works at Hobcaw Barony in Georgetown.” He acknowledged the transformation of the 16,000-acre site into a notable research hub.

Russell Fry, born in 1985 in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, and an alumnus of the University of South Carolina and Charleston School of Law, currently resides in Murrells Inlet. He served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022 before ascending to his current congressional position.
