Congressman Russell Fry, representing South Carolina’s 7th district, has shared his recent visits and political opinions through social media updates. Fry, who succeeded Tom Rice in the U.S. Congress in 2023, has a background of serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Fry, 38, was born in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, and currently resides in Murrells Inlet. He has a BA from the University of South Carolina and a JD from Charleston School of Law.

On April 22, 2025, Fry visited Sopakco in Mullins, South Carolina. He expressed his appreciation for the role the company plays in the defense supply chain, stating, “I had a great visit to Sopakco in Mullins, SC. Their products serve as a vital part of our defense supply chain and we are lucky to have them in the Pee Dee.”

On April 23, 2025, Fry shared his views on immigration, expressing concern with the current state of affairs. He bluntly stated, “This is what the Left wants – dangerous illegal aliens on our streets.”

The following day, April 24, 2025, Fry toured the A.O. Smith facility in McBee, praising the employees and American manufacturing. He remarked, “I had a great tour of the A.O. Smith facility in McBee, home to over 400 hardworking men and women creating top quality products. It is a perfect example of American manufacturing done right, and reminds us why made in America is so important.”

Fry’s activities reflect his continued involvement in local industry and national political discourse, aligning with his commitment to supporting American manufacturing and addressing immigration issues.
