70 percent of applicants to Coastal Carolina University were admitted for fall 2018

At Coastal Carolina University, 93 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 54 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Conway enrolled 10,641 students in fall 2018, including 9,917 in undergraduate and 724 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

44 percent of undergraduates are residents of South Carolina, and 54 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (66 percent) and Black or African American (19 percent).

The school admitted 70 percent of the 14,057 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 24 percent enrolled.
