Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on August 3.
A board-certified surgeon has joined Tidelands Health and is accepting new patients.
Dr. James Givens provides surgical care and treatment that includes advanced laparoscopic foregut surgery, bariatric surgery including sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass and treatments for diverticulitis, hernias and skin cancers.
He is seeing patients at Tidelands Health Surgical Specialists in Waccamaw Medical Park West, 4040 U.S. 17 Bypass in Murrells Inlet.
Dr. Givens earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed his residency and internship in general surgery at Georgetown University. He also completed a fellowship in thoracic surgery at Georgetown University.
He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Bariatric Medicine.
