Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on August 23.
Pawleys Island, SC - When a local organization shows a high level of commitment to community service that’s a great thing; when two come together to help the community, extra special things can happen.
That’s what’s happening with two Georgetown County-based organizations. Goldfinch Winslow, Attorney’s and Counselors at Law has teamed up with A Father’s Place to create and locate a “Little Library” at the Goldfinch-Winslow’s Pawleys Island office. The “Little Library” will consist of inspirational and self-improvement based books and material that will be free to the public.
A Father’s Place, which serves Georgetown and surrounding counties, has a mission of engaging and empowering fathers in the positive support of their children through goal-oriented programs that enable them to find stable employment, practice healthy parenting, and gain hope for the future of their families.
A Father’s Place has been placing “Little Libraries” in multiple locations throughout its service area. Goldfinch Winslow, with a high-profile presence on the Grand Strand, and a prime physical location near the Hammock Shops next to the post office, fits the mold of an easily accessible venue.
“We have always respected and admired the work that A Father’s Place does,” said Tom Winslow of Goldfinch Winslow. "When they came to us with the idea of locating a “Little Library” in our offices, we didn’t have to think twice. We are happy, honored, and blessed to be able to partner with A Father’s Place.”

A dedication ceremony for the “Little Library” at Goldfinch Winslow will be held Friday, August 27th at 10 A.M. The public is invited and use of the “Little Library” will be made available to the public for free, on an ongoing basis after that.
