We’re celebrating small businesses all September.
Each year we join the U.S. Small Business Administration in observing National Small Business Week. It’s an annual tradition that recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners has been celebrated by the SBA for more than 50 years. The week runs Sept. 13-17 this year.
Nationally, the SBA says more than half of Americans either own or work for a small business and they create two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year. The Grand Strand follows the national trend and most of the chamber’s investors are small businesses with 65 percent of our membership reporting having 9 or fewer employees.
