City of Myrtle Beach issued the following announcement on November 18.
Drivers… The Myrtle Beach City Code prohibits loud and excessive noise: “It shall be unlawful for any person to make, continue or cause to be made or continued any excessive, unnecessary or unusually loud noise or any noise which either annoys, disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of others” within the city limits. Such unlawful noise may be created by horns, whistles, radios, vehicles, revving engines, rapid acceleration or deceleration, loud exhausts and shouting or yelling, to name a few examples. Further, motor vehicles which violate the noise ordinance may not be driven or operated in the city and are subject to impoundment and immediate towing.
