City of Myrtle Beach: Myrtle Beach Thanks The Volunteers Who Helped For The "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Of Service"

30

City of Myrtle Beach issued the following announcement on January 20.

A big thank you to the volunteers who arrived early Monday morning for the "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service," and dedicated their time to improve the Myrtle Beach community. Volunteers worked into the afternoon to add a new fence, handrails and a small set of stairs to a man's home on King Street. The volunteers also removed old carpet and cleaned out the historic building that housed the former Boys and Girls Club on Carver Street. The goal is to refurbish the building to bring in a community resource center. The Day of Service was in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
