City of Myrtle Beach issued the following announcement on February 23.
Look for people with paintbrushes in hand at Myrtle Beach's Nance Plaza... Leadership Grand Strand Class 42 has designed this mural to be painted on a building along Ninth Avenue North. The wall faces Kings Highway and Nance Plaza, so drivers can view it while passing by. The mural incorporates the colors of the new Arts & Innovation District logo and includes some of Myrtle Beach's "claims to fame." Those include the Shag, beach music, Charlie's Place, the SkyWheel, our piers, golfing and the sandpiper. The mural now goes to the Community Appearance Board next week for final approval. The building's owner is working with the LGS class on the project and has additional plans for improving the exterior.
