City of Myrtle Beach issued the following announcement on February 28.
Myrtle Beach welcomes more than 12,000 runners and family members this Friday through Sunday, March 4-6, for Myrtle Beach Marathon events! This is the 25th anniversary of the Myrtle Beach Marathon. More than 800 runners are signed up for the 5k, more than 2,000 for the half-marathon and more than 1,200 for the full marathon. The event is estimated to generate $2.4 million in direct spending for the local economy. Please be aware that roads will be busy Saturday, so plan ahead and give yourself extra time to get to your destination.
