Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on February 22.
Plantersville, SC Plantersville Summer Academy (PSA) and Summer Bridge (SB) Program registration will open on March 1st for residents of Plantersville and on March 15th for the remainder of Georgetown County. Plantersville Summer Academy is open to students entering kindergarten through 9th grade. Registration is on a first come first served basis and can be completed on-line at www.TheVillageGroup.org
“We are pleased to be back at Carvers Bay High School this year as our scholars loved the experience there last summer,” stated Executive Director Ray Funnye.
PSA and SB will begin Monday June 6th and continue through Thursday July 21st. The full-day, 4-day a week program provides classroom instruction in preparation for the grade the scholar will be entering in the fall by certified teachers for a portion of the day with the remaining time focused on experiential activities based on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM), field trips, and guest speakers along with 3 nutritious meals/snacks. “This year we are excited to be offering several new programs and activities for our scholars,” stated Mr. Funnye.
