City of Myrtle Beach: Myrtle Beach Boardwalk renovations begin near Plyler Park

9

City of Myrtle Beach issued the following announcement on March 2.

The new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is officially underway! The boardwalk will remain open during construction, with the project to be completed in three phases. The original southern yellow pine decking is being removed and replaced with a more durable, wood-like product. Phase one, the boardwalk between Plyler Park and the Pavilion site, is underway now and should be complete in mid-April. Phase two will be the boardwalk by Plyler Park and should take two months to complete. Phase three is the section in front of the Pavilion site. That's expected to take four months. The cost of the renovation is $3.7 million.
