City of Myrtle Beach issued the following announcement on March 21.
Two new ambulances are headed to the Myrtle Beach Fire Department. They're replacing two old-timers that have more than 15,000 engine hours and 100,000 miles each. The old ones are going into the city's 'reserve unit,' while the two rookies go into service with state-of-the-art improvements, including a self-lifting stretcher loader, exterior compartments for firefighters' turnout gear and the newest technology.
