City of Myrtle Beach issued the following announcement on March 25.
A precautionary “boil water notice” has been issued for portions of Kingston Road, Caroline Circle, Shore Drive and Beach Drive in the Restaurant Row area due to a leak this morning in an eight-inch water main, north of the Myrtle Beach city limits. Repairs to the leak are underway and should be completed shortly. As a precaution, residents in the affected area (outlined in red on the attached graphic) are advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes should be boiled before use. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. Bottled water may be used as an alternative. The addresses are 302-414 Kingston Road, 300-304 Caroline Circle, 10100 Shore Drive and 9994 Beach Drive. When tests confirm that the water is safe to drink after the repair, the “boil water” advisory will be lifted. This usually occurs within 48 hours.
