NAMI SC Utilizes Champion Autism Network Autism First Responder Training
Surfside Beach SC, March 30, 2022: National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) South Carolina utilizes Autism First Responder Training developed by Champion Autism Network and delivered by Lead With Love Training Co. Incorporated into NAMI’s 5-day training for Crisis Intervention Teams (CITs) the training and exercises provide information about how to issue spot and handle encounters with autistic individuals.
Sherri Cloud, CIT Director for NAMI South Carolina states, “I have had several officers tell me that this class has benefited them not only professionally but personally. They have learned some techniques from the field tips that have helped them. They learned some triggers and what to do and what not to do. The way that the activities are incorporated very well into the presentation and well received. NAMI is truly appreciative of the support and commitment that you have given to us and to South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers”
