Stroke survivors support group meeting at Tidelands Health

Date: September 21, 2022

Time: 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM EDT

Event Description:

Stroke survivors, their relatives and caregivers can find comfort and resources through a free support group offered at Tidelands Health.

The group provides a comfortable environment for stroke survivors and their caregivers to share experiences and find support through open discussion. Patients further along in their recovery may share their success stories for others early in recovery.

?Our experts, including neurological physical therapists and occupational therapists, are available during the support group meetings to offer guidance and answer questions from stroke survivors,? said Jessica Ault, stroke program coordinator at Tidelands Health. ?The meetings provide a comfortable environment for participants to ask questions and hear stories from others going through similar challenges following a stroke.?

Participants also have the opportunity to ask questions of Tidelands Health experts, get help finding community support services and learn ways to help prevent another stroke and practice healthy habits.

The new support group is part of a growing number of services and new level of care being offered through the health system?s expanding neurosciences program.
