FIRST IN SERVICE FRIDAY Please help the City of Myrtle Beach congratulate Adam Oleszkowicz of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department for his outstanding dedication to the City!
Adam is a fire lieutenant and veteran MBFD member with 16 years of service. He's an integral organizer of the annual Tunnel to Towers 5k Run and Walk, which occurred last weekend. He insisted to not have any recognition, especially without his B-Shift team (pictured left to right: Michael Bolinger, Mathew Ballard, Matthew Baker, Eric Ballard, Adam Oleszkowicz, Frank Scarpa, Nicole Perry). He only agreed to this post with a picture of his team next to his!
His nomination says the rest:
"Lieutenant Adam Oleszkowicz is a shining star in the Myrtle Beach Fire Department. Over the last 16 years, Lt. Oleszkowicz has served as a Firefighter Paramedic, Firefighter Engineer, and for the last few years as a Lieutenant on B-Shift at Station 1...which runs 1/3 of all of the calls in the City of Myrtle Beach. From the beginning of his career, Lt. Oleszkowicz has served as a leader and embodied the “First in Service” attitude by mentoring other firefighters and rising as one of the premiere Paramedics on the department. Lt. Oleszkowicz believes that hard work and dedication to the job are paramount, and can often be seen training with his crews at the station, in the field, or on the training ground every shift to make sure that they are ready and prepared for any call that they may respond to.
Over the past few years Lt. Oleszkowicz has also been asked to speak about leadership at various commencement ceremonies, local and national conferences, and internal leadership programs to help educate and train the next generation of firefighters. Aside from being a loving father and husband, one of Lt. Oleszkowicz’s greatest accomplishments is bringing the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation Run/Walk 5K to our area which has consistently grown over the last five years and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help military and first responder families after they have lost a loved one in the line of duty.
Lieutenant Adam Oleszkowicz is more than just a City Employee that EARN’s IT every day in the fire service with his “First in Service” attitude. He is a leader, friend, mentor, and the kind of person that we should all strive to be in our jobs and at home with our families."
Additionally, Lt. Oleszkowicz is a football coach for Socastee Middle School and is attending school at Coastal Carolina University to earn his teaching degree. Thank you for your dedication and congratulations!
