It’s officially the Rivers F. Lynch Tennis Center at Myrtle Beach High School. A large crowd attended this afternoon’s naming ceremony, showing how much everyone loved and respected the late Rivers Lynch, longtime coach for the Seahawks. He passed away unexpectedly in 2019, but his legacy is not forgotten. Son-in-law John Cahill, the Seahawks’ athletic director, said Rivers always had a smile on his face and made every student or adult feel like the most important person. “All it takes is all you’ve got” was what Lynch told his teams, and that resulted in 11 state tennis championships for Myrtle Beach High School. The 10-court tennis center is jointly owned by the Horry County Schools and City of Myrtle Beach.
