Tour de Plantersville & Cultural Festival Saturday, October 29, 2022

PLANTERSVILLE, South Carolina – The 4th Annual Tour de Plantersville, Presented by South Carolina’s Hammock Coast, offers a 12, 25 or 62 mile bicycle excursions down the Plantersville scenic Byway, capturing its rich rice farming history and explores various Colonial-era landmarks.  New routes and stops this year!  There are rest stops along the route and each historical site visited will have volunteer docents to introduce riders to the history of the property.  Riders will have the opportunity to have special access to a select historical plantation along the Pee Dee River.

Don’t have a bicycle or can’t transport it – not a problem!  You can rent a bicycle from Cyclopedia for the 12 mile ride.  They will bring the bike and helmet to TdP and then take it back after the ride.   You just have to call them to reserve your bike – only advanced pre-paid reservations are taken.

The Cultural Festival, sponsored by Andy’s Charleston Gold Rice, is open to everyone from 10 – 2 pm.  Free admission with plenty of parking!  Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the Reggae music of Mystic Vibrations at noon.  Aunny’s Country Kitchen and the Charleston Caribbean Creole Food Truck will have tasty food available for purchase. Stroll the Vendor Village with local artisan, traditional Gullah products and local farm items for purchase.

Kids will find lots of fun activities at the Kiwanis Kids Korner. "Our Kiwanis family is glad to team up to support The Village Group. Our mission of serving the community fits perfectly with the Cultural Festival." said Raphael Carr, President of Kiwanis Club of Georgetown.
