Dispatching his Secretary of Defense to the southern border is the next step in fulfilling his promise to restore national security."

At 17:36 UTC, Fry announced the re-introduction of the Chinese Spy Balloon Assessment Act on its two-year anniversary. He tweeted, "Today, on the two-year anniversary of the Chinese spy balloon being shot down off the coast of my district, I am re-introducing the Chinese Spy Balloon Assessment Act." Fry emphasized that "this balloon was allowed to traverse U.S. airspace for days before being disabled."
