On February 5, 2025, Congressman Russell Fry expressed criticism of the Biden administration's energy policies, accusing it of waging "lawfare against energy production." He praised former President Trump for his commitment to streamlining domestic energy production. "Harmful regulation after harmful regulation — the Biden administration waged lawfare against energy production for years, but no more! President Trump has made it clear he will take much-needed action to streamline our domestic energy production, not suffocate it."

The following day, February 6, 2025, Fry announced the reintroduction of the Chinese Spy Balloon Assessment Act. This legislative effort aims to provide answers regarding a surveillance balloon allegedly sent by the Chinese Communist Party across U.S. airspace.
