Anyone can make a difference. A young man rescued a woman from her burning car in Myrtle Beach last night around 9:00 p.m. The woman’s car went off the road and hit a building after she was in an accident at the intersection of Farrow Parkway and Fred Nash Boulevard. A 21-year-old happened to be nearby, and saw the car hit the building and catch fire from the natural gas connection. Instead of waiting for help, he ran toward the danger, quickly pulling the elderly driver out of the car and saving her life. The Myrtle Beach Fire Department arrived to put the fire out.
MBPD Corporal Matt Deane spoke with the witness at the scene. Corporal Deane says "I told him he should be proud. He saved that woman's life."
The Myrtle Beach Fire Department, Myrtle Beach Police Department and the City of Myrtle Beach thank this young man for his selfless actions. He was in the right place, at the right time, and willingly stepped up to help. Just a reminder that anyone can make a difference.
